The People are a young, high-energy rock band from the Hibiscus Coast, Auckland, bringing raw passion and tight musicianship to every performance. Aged 15-17, they may be young, but their sound is anything but small.
The band first crossed paths in their high school’s rock band program, where they quickly built a strong musical connection. Realizing they had something special, they officially formed The People in November 2022, eager to take their music beyond the school stage and into the real world.
Drawing inspiration from Foo Fighters, Paramore, Royal Blood, and Green Day, The People deliver hard-hitting riffs, explosive energy, and a fresh take on modern rock. Their electrifying performances have already made waves, including a sold-out show with Automatic 80s at Paraoa Brewing Co. and two New Year’s shows at the same venue. They were also the only under-18 band in the entire country to enter Battle of the Bands, making it to the Auckland finals, and they reached the SUSO semifinals.
This is where it all begins for The People…
